Once melted, add cosmetic color, fragrance, and other skin-safe additives—this base can hold up to 5% total additives—then pour the mixture into a Crafter’s Choice mold and spritz the surface with rubbing alcohol to reduce bubbles. Allow the soap to cool completely before unmolding, then wrap it in airtight plastic wrap to preserve freshness. Melted soap is hot and should be used with caution; recommended for ages 15 and older.

"I used this to make bar soap for my children and added a small, safe amount of fragrance oil and I am in love! I loved it so much I started using it and it leaves my skin feeling sooo good, and so soft! It has not dried out my kids skin at all either. It's very luxurious with a great lather, but does not leave me with that squeaky clean feeling. (I am Black and my kids are mixed race, so I don't play about dry, ashy skin. ) I highly recommend the 2lb tray if you just want to give it a try. This soap is perfect for gifts since it is designed for sensitive skin. I will say that this soap does tend to be a little soft so it seems to wear down faster than a regular bar soap."

"This is my favorite summertime soap! With or without additives. I use it both ways. I do a lot of landscaping and get filthy. This is the first soap to completely clean me in one scrubbing. lol. Even removes the dye from colored mulch under my nails. And it doesn't dry my skin! It's now the only cleanser I use on my face too, with green tea and lavender EO added. The light fragrance is so fresh and the slight color is very pretty."

I'm not saying I want to but can I mix the detergent free with the detergent mp soaps? Would it make them less harsh if so?: What is the end goal? DF soaps are less harsh. Bubbles of any kind have more additives.

Are your Crafter's Choice Detergent Free soap bases compostable?: This is not compostable.
Can you use this to make shampoo bars?: Yes, you can use this for shampoo bars.
When using the soap, why does the soap only last 3 days?: Our detergent free soap bases are naturally soft. You could do any of the following: switch to a premium base (these are harder than our detergent free bases), store in water-draining dish in the shower, or add stearic acid. If you want to try adding stearic acid, you would need to individually melt the stearic acid and then the soap. Mix them together at 160-165º F. This is important in preventing the stearic acid from re-solidifying into wax like drops throughout the soap. If adding to a clear MP base, be aware that it will affect its clarity and cause it to cloud.
