Can we still use blue mica in this recipe? I noticed that someone asked if mica could be used and the answer was "Yes".: You have to check the approved usage for each color. If it can be used in soap and general cosmetics, it can be used.

I followed the directions exactly. When I put these in the mold, they expanded. I assume that is from the citric acid reacting. Is this normal or should I have done something differently?: It sounds like there was a bit too much liquid in the product. If this happens, you can keep pushing down on each pinwheel until it stops rising.
